Facility

The Shrewsbury City Center holds offices for Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation as well as Shrewsbury City Hall. In addition, the Center also contains a gym, weight room, game room and several meeting spaces.

Insurance

The Shrewsbury Parks & Recreation Department does not provide insurance coverage for injuries suffered while participating in or spectating at Parks & Recreation programs or while using our facilities.

Membership

Rec Pass

The Rec Pass includes use of the gym during open play, the weight room (must be at least 14 years of age), and the game room. Passes are valid for one year from the date of purchase.

Super Rec Pass (Residents Only)

Aquatic Center ID Cards

Identification cards are required for residents to enter the Shrewsbury Family Aquatic Center at a daily rate of $4 for ages 16 and up and $3 for ages 3-15. These ID’s are $10 and may be purchased at the City Center front desk.

Resident Pool Pass

This pass includes unlimited admission to the Shrewsbury Family Aquatic Center for the entire pool season. Passes for residents are on sale year round.

Non-Resident Pool Pass

All non-residents wishing to purchase a pool pass MUST be sponsored by a Shrewsbury Resident with valid resident pass. Non-resident pass quantities are limited, so please arrange your sponsorship early to ensure your ability to purchase one.

Bring a Friend Campaign

Members who refer a friend who purchases a non-resident pool pass receive a $25.00 Shrewsbury gift card good for any Program or renewal of pass. (Must be a new non-resident pool pass holder.)

Silver Aquatic Center Pass

Admission to the Shrewsbury Family Aquatic Center for senior citizen residents (age 65+) is free for life.

Resident Pass Requirements

All persons wishing to purchase a pass at the resident rate must be listed on the occupancy permit at their current residence. Furthermore, any additional persons listed on the pass must also be listed on the same occupancy permit.

City Center Guest Policies

Guest of members must be accompanied by a pass holder at all times. The fee for each guest 14 years and under is $2. The fee for each guest 15 years and up is $3.

City Center Age Restrictions

Children ages 9 years and younger must be directly supervised by a person 13 years or older. Youth ages 10-17 may use the weight room with direct adult supervision. Youth ages 14-17 wanting to use the weight room without adult supervision must first take the weight room workshop.

Registration

Participants must pre-register for programs. Registration should be completed at least one week prior to the program start date. Any programs that do not meet minimum participation requirements will be cancelled three days prior to the start date. Therefore, early registration is strongly encouraged. All fees associated with any programs must be paid for at time of registration.

Refund Policy

Refunds will only be given if:

1. The participant is unable to attend due to illness. A physician’s statement must be presented before a refund will be disbursed. A pro-rated amount will be given if the program has already begun.
2. The program is cancelled. Refunds will be given to all paid participants.
3. The participant makes a WRITTEN request before the start of the second class. Requests received after the second class will entitle the participant to a pro-rated refund at the Director’s discretion.

Directions

From I-270: Take 270 to I-44 East, then follow directions from I-44 East below.

From I-44 West: Take Shrewsbury Avenue exit. Follow the exit around and back over the highway. Continue on Shrewsbury Ave. approximately 6 blocks until it dead-ends in the City Center parking lot.

From I-44 East: Take Laclede Station Road/Murdoch exit number 282. Stay in the middle lane of that exit. Cross over Laclede Station Rd. to Murdoch. Turn left onto Murdoch. Follow Murdoch to Shrewsbury Ave. and turn right. Continue on Shrewsbury approximately 4 blocks until it dead-ends in the City Center parking lot.

From I-170: Follow 170 until it ends. Turn left onto Eager Road and go right onto Hanley Rd. Continue on Hanley until the Marshall Road stoplight. Turn left onto Marshall Road. Marshall Road will turn into Shrewsbury Ave after it crosses Big Bend. Continue on Shrewsbury Ave. until it dead-ends in the City Center Parking Lot.

From Hwy 40/I-64: Turn south on Laclede Station Road or Hanley Road and then follow directions from I-170.
