Car Care 101

This course covers the basics of car maintenance including checking fluids, fixing a flat and even changing the oil. This is a perfect course for new or not so new drivers looking to better maintain there cars. Participants will be able to work on there own car. Wear old cloths. (Saturday) (301008)

Computer Classes

Please join us for 4 weeks of Computer Classes at the Shrewsbury City Center starting at 10 a.m. Classes will provide an in-depth knowledge of your windows application that will improve and enhance your computer experience. Some of the areas we will explore are computer updates, email attachments, Internet protection, searches, passwords and online banking. Required: Some experience using a computer and a laptop to bring to class (EXCEPTION - partner with another student and their laptop). Limited to 15 students. So enroll soon! (Thursdays) (301001)

Ameristar Casino St. Charles

Try your luck at the new Ameristar that boasts the largest selection of slot machines and table games in the metro St. Louis. Venture through the 130,000 square-foot casino with 3,300 slots and games, including a live poker room. Take advantage of the 25 credits for $20 offered to our group. A bountiful buffet is included to dine at your leisure. You must bring a photo ID. Space is limited so sign up early. (Tuesdays) (301006)

Dog Training Classes

Puppy Kindergarten/Elementary - This class is for puppies 8 weeks to 8 months of age. Puppies will learn basic manners, appropriate play and socialization with other dogs, and socialization and interaction with humans. Puppies will be eligible to achieve the AKC STAR Puppy designation. Puppies will be split into groups by age for playtime. (301002)

Session I: October 6th - December 1st (Wednesdays)
Session II: October 7th - December 2nd (Thursdays)

Beginner/Intermediate Dog Training -This class is for dogs 4 months and older. The dog may have no previous training experience, or have had some basic training. In this class handlers and dogs will learn foundation skills for good behavior and formal obedience, attention to handler, targeting, sit, down, loose leash walking, go to a mat/station, wait, stays, come when called, and polite greeting of people. Dogs will also learn to work with distractions.  (Thursdays) (301004)

Advanced Dog Training - This class is for dogs and handlers who have mastered the basic foundation skills and are working on specific behaviors. Obedience, Agility, Rally, advanced clicker skills, and troubleshooting for behavior and competition will be topics. Pre-requisites; must have attended Canine Challenge with Greater St. Louis Training Club, or Clicker Potluck, or have permission of an instructor. (Wednesdays) (301003)

Kimmswick Blue Owl and Anheuser Estate Tour

Save your appetite for a meal at the famous Blue Owl, where everything is homemade. After lunch we’ll tour the historic summer home of the Anheuser family. We’ll make some time to check out the many shops located with in the commercial district of Kimmswick, many of which are listed on the National Registry of Historic Places. Lunch and tour included, all shopping on your own. (Thursday) (301009)

Indulgence Day Trip

Hold off on those New Year’s resolutions just a little longer. We are spending the day de-stressing from the Holidays and indulging ourselves. Our first stop is chocolate lovers paradise with hand-crafted chocolates and a large assortment of packaged seasonal candies at the Chocolate Affair in Highland, IL. We’ll cross the street to House of Plenty for lunch where portions really are “plenty.” Our last stop will take us to Lebanon, IL to the Dr. Jazz soda Fountain, a truly unique stop that will take you back in time to an old time soda fountain. Lunch and transportation included in price, A Chocolate Affair purchases and soda fountain dessert are on your own. (Tuesday) (301011)

Cropping Night Out

Grab your girlfriends and come enjoy a night out. In this class you'll have fun learning the basics about how to create a photo safe environment to gather your precious memories. We will teach how to mat and layer your photos, use small accents and embellishments, and create complimentary color coordination. In addition, you will be introduced to various styles of pages and a variety of adhesives. You will be creating the pages during class time. Please bring 5-10 pictures of an event to each class. Let's Crop!! Feel free to bring drinks and snacks of your choice. (Thursdays) (301012)
