Finance Department

The Finance Department is responsible for coordinating and monitoring all fiscal matters concerning the City of Shrewsbury. The Department is responsible for payroll; collecting revenues and paying expenditures; analyzing and monitoring the City's investments; developing the annual operating budget; providing the Board of Aldermen and the Mayor with short and long-term financial forecasts and advice regarding financial affairs of the City; administering the property and liability insurance programs and overall risk management; coordinating efforts with public accountants to accomplish an independent annual audit of the City's operation; and overseeing all accounts receivable including ambulance billings and municipal court.


October 13, 2017 GFOA Distinguished Budget Award

The GFOA annoucned that the City of Shrewsbury, Missouri ahs received GFOA's Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget. 


When a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award is granted to an entity, a Certificate of Recognition for Budget Presentation is also presented to the individual designated as being responsible for having achieved the award. Information Technology

The City provides Information Technology through Rejis, a local government agency created to provide technology services to government agencies and other related entities. The Finance Department is responsible for providing leadership and direction to Rejis technicians to ensure the City’s IT Infrastructure is fully integrated and operational, and assists in determining future technology needs of the City.
